‘Giò’ is here, a new modular sofa by Calia Italia

Making its entrance into our ‘Modular Collection’, Calia Italia presents its newest creation, ‘Giò’.  This collection interprets the sofa as a dynamic, flexible object, created to be personalised by those who choose it.

Having all the main features of modular sofas by Calia Italia, ‘Giò’ is designed with versatility in mind, as well as the right touch of retro style and it comes in leather, fabric and microfibre. The different shaped versions allow this sofa to be inserted in any corner of the house, reinterpreting spaces as required.

The comfort of ‘Giò’ is enriched by the values of the land where it was created, giving life to a true Mediterranean Experience. From the curviness of the design to the shades of the cladding, ‘Giò’ is a model inspired by the typical colours of the Mediterranean as well as those moods and moments that you live alone or share with your loved ones.

‘Giò’ has the green of the olive tree, a symbol of Mediterranean longevity. It has the earthy orange of the meeting of deciduous leaves and the sunlit ground. There’s also the splendid yellow ochre of the tufaceous stones when flooded with light – not to mention the emerald green of the shallower waters.

‘Giò’s’ structure is based on the principle of modular ergonomics. The fibre padding on the backrest makes it welcoming while the high backrest acts as a head support ensuring maximum comfort. The modules are fully finished and completely removable in the fabric versions and they also connect together thanks to interlocking mechanisms located in the lower part.

‘Giò’ is the couch, indeed the den in which to take refuge to relax, think about holidays, work, and chat with family, friends or companions. It is the place where you feel safe.
